Accessible Animation: reaching a multi-ethnic workforce
The advice across the UAE was very clear, as the virus advanced – stay home, stay safe. But that message was mainly in Arabic and English, and we knew that there are literally millions of people here with other mother tongues. So we suggested a new way to reach them. Working with the communications agency Asda’a BCW, we proposed a series of short animated films. Our client, a major regional employer, required voiceovers in five languages. media971 has considerable animation experience, so we scripted, designed, animated, edited and provided translators and voice artists. We also commissioned a supporting series of posters. Distributed on WhatsApp and through internal messaging systems, the films reached thousands of workers, providing vital information in their own language through an entertaining video format.
